Wanted: NSAC Debaters
Do you feel passionate about an energy related issue or simply enjoy debating?
The NSAC Debaters wants you!
This March 16, as part of the NSAC’s Energy Awareness Week, a mock episode of the popular CBC radio show “The Debaters” will take place on campus and we are seeking contestants. Go toe to toe with faculty, staff, or students debating issues such as the Alberta Tar Sands, climate change, and solar vs. wind power. The audience of the event will pick the winners of each 15 minute debate based on who delivered the best set of logic and laughs, rhetoric and rant. Prizes to be won! Sign-up now by e-mailing sustainabilitynsac@gmail.com and indicate the topic you are most interested in.
We are still taking suggestions for other energy related debate topics if there's something not on the list you're interested in, pitch it to us!
New Switchboard Menu
On Tuesday, Feb.9 the university implemented a new switchboard menu structure for the automated switchboard. The number of initial options has been reduced to four from nine and the redesign addresses gaps found in the previous structure and provides greater clarity for some of the options. You will find the new structure outlined below. We also have a new voice of our automated switchboard! (Can you guess who it is?)
We are already getting positive comments about the change in structure but welcome more feedback. Please send any anecdotal comments, either positive or negative, to Elaine MacInnis at emacinnis@nsac.ca
Have you completed your sustainability pledge yet? Go online now to nsac.ca/sustainability/pledge/ and pledge to do some things that will help save our environment. It takes five minutes, you'll feel fabulous for doing it and you can choose to receive a personalized 12 month calendar. The calendar features beautiful shots of NSAC's campus and features all of the main green days, events and awareness weeks that are organized to support a sustainable future.
Pledge your sustainable behaviour today and this lovely calendar could be yours!
