Upcoming Tractor Safety Course
There will be a Tractor Safety course offered May 5-6 at the NSAC Farm. All student employees who are required to operate tractors and equipment as part of their summer employment responsibilities must attend.
Want to spend a semester abroad as an intern contributing to development work and experience living in another country?
NSAC students (third, fourth year and graduate level) have the opportunity to participate in funded internships in Ethiopia during the 2010-2011 fall semester at the Jimma University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (JUCAVM).
The Work Well Team has arranged an orientation day for all new staff hired since September 2009 (summer students not included). We encourage all new hires to attend this year's orientation session.
An employee handbook alone is not sufficient to welcome new employees. Don't be overwhelmed by all the information there is to absorb as you get acquainted with department and government processes and procedures.
Date: Wednesday, June 2 Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Registration is from 8:30 - 8:50 am) Place: Riverview Room, Jenkins Hall, NSAC, Truro NS
Some of the topics for the day include:
Department Overviews
Occupational Health and Safety
Human Resources information
Ethics

Special Recognition Award
This award provides a way to recognize students who provided outstanding leadership in an area not covered by existing award categories. Shawn Loo has been recognized for his leadership in student communication. Leanne French-Munn, Director, Enrollment Management, NSAC, is shown making the presentation to Shawn.
As editor of the Golden Ram, Shawn has provided the AC with monthly updates with current issues and events taking place at AC. Along with being an active spokes person for the school, he also plays a very active role in express environmental matters both on campus and in the local newspaper.
