Atlantic
Agricultural Forum hosted by NSAC
The world’s biggest challenges today directly relate
to agriculture and the keys to addressing these challenges
can be found at the Atlantic Agricultural Forum April 22 and
23.
With a theme to connect, innovate and renew, this two-day
workshop, hosted by Nova Scotia Agricultural College, will
focus on the changing face of agriculture and will aim to connect
all players in the industry by providing a forum for learning
and innovation and by fostering renewal, ideas, growth and
partnerships.
“Our ability, as an agricultural university, to support healthy,
sustainable communities is dependent upon the strength of
our partnerships, the depth of our communications and our aptitude
for innovation,” said Dr. Gefu Wang-Pruski, NSAC Professor
and Chair of the Forum. “The Atlantic Agricultural
Forum is an important venue for connecting those in the industry,
for sharing new technologies and for renewing and forging
commitments
and partnerships,” she added.
Key content areas will be sharing new technologies and research,
discussing new extension methods, learning improved ways
to communicate with farmers and consumers and increasing
awareness
of food quality, safety and traceability issues.
Myles Frosst, former CEO of the Agricultural Institute of
Canada and Dr. Marvin Pritts of Cornell University, will
open the
Conference on Thursday, April 22.
If you are an agricultural professional, scientist, rural
community activist, farmer, consultant, student or are simply
interested in agricultural or rural life, plan to attend the
Atlantic Agricultural Forum hosted by Nova Scotia Agricultural
College April 22, 23 in Truro.
NSAC is a specialized university that cultivates learning and
