WorldCat Local
WorldCat Local is a search tool that allows
you to search many libraries at once for an item (such as
books, journals, government documents and more) and also
search your local library (NSAC). It does not replace our
traditional search tools such as the Novanet
Catalogue, articles
and research databases and Journal
Resolver (our journal search tool).
For more information on WorldCat Local, check out our WorldCat
Local information page.

Find articles
The majority of the Library's journals are available only
online, although a small collection of important journals
are available in print. Probably the best way to find journal
articles is to use the appropriate database.

Evaluate websites
There are two recommended approaches to evaluating web
based resources in an academic setting. The first is a general
approach which should be applied to all web sites/documents
and was developed by Jim Kapoun. It involves the application
of five standard criteria to each web site/document. The
second approach is a scientific evaluation of the information
provided and was developed by Norman Goodyear. This material
has been used with their permission. Click

Find government documents
Government documents are documents that come from a government
organization at a local, provincial, federal or international
level. We also include some university and corporate publications.
These items are published, and/or written and /or funded
by the organization.
See our "How-to"
Guide for finding Government Documents at MacRae Library
(pdf) for more information.
