Nova Scotia Agricultural College Scholarships
1. Graduate Research Training Initiative
(GRTI)
- no new competitions due to funding
To provide scholarships to high caliber students
who are engaged in a research-based graduate program at
the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (NSAC) and who are
conducting research that will benefit the Nova Scotia’s
agriculture and agri-food industry. This initiative is intended
to ensure a reliable supply of highly-qualified personnel
to meet the future needs of Nova Scotia’s agri-food
industry. The value of the awards is $17,300 per year for
up to two years for full-time students and $8,650 per year
for up to two years for part-time students. Click

2. Canadian Dairy Commission Scholarship
Program
- Next deadline May 1, 2012
To provide scholarships to high caliber students who are
registered in a research-based graduate program at the Nova
Scotia Agricultural College (NSAC) and who are conducting
a thesis research project that has application to the dairy
industry and is in one of the following areas: agricultural
economics and policy, food/dairy science or animal science.
The value of the awards is $20,000 per year for up to two
years for students enrolled in the Master of Science program.
In addition, students who receive the scholarship may apply
for a one-time maximal additional sum of $5000 for travel
costs to further their education or research program on
the advice of their thesis supervisor. Recipients of this

3. Entrance Scholarships
The Nova Scotia Agricultural College offers several
entrance scholarships of $5,000 per year to applicants approved
(or conditionally approved) for admission to the NSAC/Dalhousie
M.Sc. program. All entrance-level students are automatically
considered for an entrance scholarship. Recipients of
this award must register as a full-time student in the M.Sc.
program.
3. Robert P. Longley
Graduate Scholarships
Two $7,000 scholarships will be awarded to Nova
Scotia students entering the M.Sc. program at the Nova Scotia
Agricultural College on a full-time basis. The scholarships
will be awarded on the basis of academic performance (cumulative
GPA from undergraduate degree). Recipients of NSAC
Graduate Entrance Scholarships will not be eligible. Students
on employment leave with salary continuation are not eligible.
No application required.
4. International Student
Fee Waivers
Non-Canadian students are required to pay an additional
differential fee on top of regular tuition fees. The Nova Scotia
Agricultural College awards several differential fee waivers
to international students admitted to the M.Sc. program. Differential
fee waivers are available to students in their first year of
the program only. Academic Departments award the differential
fee waivers based on academic merit and on financial need.
