NSAC Foundation Officers
Serving as Officers are:
Dr. Bernie MacDonald (Treasurer), B.Sc., M.Sc.,
both of the University of Maine, Ph.D (West Virginia)
has served as associate professor, professor and Chair
of the Industrial Arts/Technology Education program
at the Nova Scotia Teachers College, he was appointed
Vice Principal of the NSTC and was recipient of the
Outstanding Teaching Award of the International Technology
Education Association for Nova Scotia. Dr MacDonald
is currently Co-President, Vice-President Administration of Nova
Scotia Agricultural College (NSAC), a position he has
held since 1994. In this capacity, Dr MacDonald manages
and supervises a wide range of administrative services
including finance; budget preparation and forecasting;
human resources and campus physical infrastructure.
Dr. Richard Donald (Secretary), BSc.
from Mount Allison
M.Sc. - University of Guelph
PhD - University of Saskatchewan. He served as Research Fellow at NSAC from 1992 to 1993. Richard came back to NSAC in July 2009, after spending 17 years in the private sector.
In his role as Vice-President Research, Extension and Outreach, Dr. Donald works with NSAC researchers as a catalyst to drive transition and innovation in the bioresource and agri-food sectors, working closely with AgraPoint and the provincial departments of agriculture.
He oversees the development and external relations function at the university including all fundraising activities, marketing and communications, alumni relations and management of NSAC’s website, nsac.ca.
Ms Alisha Johnson,(Recording Secretary) Development Officer
After graduating with her Bachelor of Public Relations (Co-operative Education Route) in 2008, Alisha joined NSAC shortly after, in January 2009. As a student, she completed two of her required work terms at NSAC in various supporting marketing and communications roles. Alisha is responsible
for alumni relations and fundraising at NSAC. She also acts as recording
secretary and support for the Foundation.
