Gordon Price Bio
Gordon is the Innovative Waste Management Research Chair
in the Department of Engineering, NSAC and is a professional
agrologist. Gordon has extensive training and experience
in tropical and temperate agroforestry cropping systems,
agricultural resource management, waste management, earthworm
ecology, nutrient dynamics, soil biochemistry, and organic
matter decomposition. His current research program is focused
on the use of compost systems and the utilization of on-farm
and industry wastes in agriculture. He holds a BSc in Agriculture
from the University of British Columbia and a MSc and PhD
from the University of Guelph. Gordon has been actively
involved in an advisory capacity to the Departments of Agriculture
and Environment in Nova Scotia, as well as in Ontario, in
the areas of Specified Risk Materials, organic amendment
management, and impacts of using municipal biosolids in
agriculture.
Gordon is also an established lecturer and educator with
experience in the design and delivery of training programs
in waste management, composting, and nutrient management
in academic and non-formal settings.
