NSAC Attended High School Graduations

Students and staff represented NSAC at 20 high school graduations this spring. Presentations of entrance scholarships at graduations is an important part of relationship building with high schools and enhancing NSAC's presence with prospective students and their families.

NSAC was represented at graduations in Park View, Miramichi Valley, Kinkora, Petitcodiac, Harvey, Kensington, Bluefield, Montague, Charlottetown Rural, Northeast Kings, Horton, Dr J H Gillis, North Nova, CEC, North Colchester, Pugwash, Hants North, Bridgewater, Northumberland and South Colchester.

Alumni with students graduating next year are encouraged to contact the Scholarship office at NSAC to arrange to represent NSAC at even more graduations in 2010.

Highlights for NSAC at some of this year's high school graduations included :
- Four of the top five students who graduated from Pugwash District High School are coming to NSAC including recipients of an Atlantic Scholar Award and a Harrison McCain Scholarship, a total of five entrance scholarships were awarded. The guest speaker at Pugwash's graduation was John Duynisveld (Class of '94 & '00)
- Thirty-one entrance scholarships were presented to students graduating from CEC - the most ever! Included in the list of CEC's NSAC entrance scholarship recipients were an Atlantic Scholar, six IB students and four students planning to begin NSAC's new International Food Business program.
- Seven students at Dr J H Gillis received entrance scholarships to NSAC including an Atlantic Scholar Award, a Harrison McCain Scholarship and two first year IFB Scholarships.
- Six entrance scholarships were presented at Park View, four at North East Kings and three each at Horton, South Colchester and Northumberland.
- Atlantic Scholars Awards were also presented to students from Petitcodiac (NB), Westisle (PEI) and Menihek (Labrador City, NL) high schools.

Third year B Sc (Agr) student Megan Crouse represented NSAC at Montague High School's graduation and presented an entrance scholarship certificate to Alexander MacKinnon, son of Danny (Class of '75) and Christine (Class of ''79) MacKinnon.
