Professor Bill Mathewson Memorial Bursary

Friends of Bill Mathewson were saddened to hear of his passing Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the age of 80. Much loved by students, faculty and the agricultural industry, Bill will be greatly missed. To perpetuate his memory, Bill’s friends and colleagues at NSAC are launching a bursary. More

Federal Agricultural Initiative Launched at NSAC

Canadian Agricultural Safety Week (CASW) was officially launched for Nova Scotia on Mar. 10 at NSAC by The Honourable Brooke Taylor, minister of agriculture and fisheries. More


NSAC Receives $3 million Funding for Development Work in Ethiopia

Feb. 24 was a big day for NSAC International and your university. The Honourable Peter MacKay announced $3 million in funding for The Post-Harvest Management to Improve Livelihoods Project (PHMIL) which will significantly expand and continue NSAC’s development work in Ethiopia. More.

Dr. Rob Gordon Accepts Position with OAC

On behalf of the entire NSAC community, Dr. Leslie MacLaren and Dr. Bernie MacDonald want to congratulate Rob on his new position as Dean of Ontario Agricultural College (OAC). His energy and enthusiasm will be missed by everyone but there is no doubt that he will do great things in his new position. Rob will begin his five-year term with the OAC starting in August.

Research

NSAC Researchers receive $1.3million in funding for work on agriculture and environment.

NSAC is pleased to announce funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI). The funding will allow NSAC to develop and enhance research programs at the university. The recipients of the Canada Foundation Innovation awards were NSAC researchers Dr. Berni Benkel, Dr. Kathleen Glover, Dr. Nathan Boyd and Dr. Derek Lynch. More.

NSAC Grad students making big contributions today, and tomorrow, to local Ag Industry

The first round of students who have received Graduate Research Training Initiative (GRTI) Fellowships at Nova Scotia Agricultural College (NSAC) are making significant contributions to the local agriculture industry and helping Nova Scotia prepare for the future. More.


Athletics

Sports fans all over Canada were tuned in as NSAC succesfully hosted its third National Basketball Championship in three years at Langille Athletic Centre! More.
