NSAC Launches Marketing Campaign 2006

Work on the 2006 marketing campaign is really moving ahead. NSAC is again working with marketing agency, Allura Communications & Marketing, who were successful in the competition for a three-year marketing services contract for our marketing strategy.

You will notice a few changes to the marketing program from last year, the most obvious being the evolution of the NSAC brand tag line. After much discussion and feedback and given the expansion of programs planned for the next few years an evolution of the NSAC brand positioning was recommended.

The “NSAC. Embrace Your World” theme is aimed at allowing this extension and at building on our science programs by attracting bright young, people who are passionate about solving problems in the wider world around them. NSAC will help students make a difference because our hands on, highly interactive approach, is both experiential and educational.

This phrasing strategically encompasses the disciplines of science, agriculture and the environment and is very distinct from other colleges and universities in Atlantic Canada. It also reflects NSAC’s commitment to allow student to put theory into practice This is very consistent with NSAC’s long rich heritage in the advancement of agricultural science and rural development.

Potential NSAC students share a set of common attitudes. They are very interested in agriculture and the environment (the wider world around them) They want to make a difference in communities; they love a challenge and appreciate hands on approached to finding solution.

The campaign has a multimedia approach that includes:

1. Closed captioning television Billboard ads
2. High school poster advertising
3. On-line banner ads
4. Face to Face sales (recruitment brochures, posters and new booth)
5. Customized Direct Mail pieces for students
6. New still photography
7. Revisions and enhancements to VIC NSAC’s Virtual Interactive Counselor that helps guidance counselors and teachers promote a career in science to their students;
8. VIC’s web portal - use of hand-held video, virtual interactive campus tours and much more.
9. Public relations campaign that includes media relations and related events

Elements of the new campaign will roll out over the next month as the high school recruitment campaign gets into full swing. Graphics for the “Embrace your World” tag line are available for your use on the marketing website http://nsac.ca/marketing along with other marketing materials. A sample of our new brochures can be viewed here.

We hope you will embrace this new theme and help spread the word about NSAC.
